hot pot [boss battle]

By levelcapybara on December 15, 2024 4:35 pm

Like a hot pot, this one's a mix of things:
*one part sequel to "scalding cauldron”;
*one part lyrics about a power-hungry demon;
*and one part soundtrack to a boss battle / dance-off.

Happy Week 50 everybody! heart

Oh. Oh yes. This is like if you could turn on shuffle for things I like, but instead of shuffling songs it just made a new one and stuffed it together

Trance gate-y background vocals, that super Gravity Kills / early NIN industrial beginning, and then there’s deadmau5 plucks and just… so fun.

Early on you do one of my favorite things… super clean sounds for a bit in the middle of crunch town… but later when you’ve got _both_… it’s not quiet, loud, quiet… it’s all at once. So good.

I’m positive I’ve said this about a few of your tunes this year, but I’d buy this album right now. This is a 5 minute journey

those vocals are wild! This has a great flow to it. Is that sampled guitar in there or is that a dedicated guitar track. Sounds great.

Ooof love when the bassline kicks in filling out the mix.  Oooh and that synth melody at the 3min mark! The lil gated rhythm effect is really cool and matches the pacing of the kick/bass perfect.  Excellent work!

wow, such a cool (and ominous!) turn from you!
is that you with the secret floating ahhhhh vocals?
the low tones sound sooo good
really great track, lcb

The low end on this is sooo smooth and deep, it makes for the perfect soundbed for the melodic elements and just slightly creepy textures overtop. Feels like the boss battle before the BOSS BATTLE.

Love this hot pot. Mixed and sounds like Air (the french band).

I looove how the vocals sound throughout, both the menacing lead and the oohs/aahs. I imagine fighting a boss who's trying to intimidate me but I'm too busy jamming to the soundtrack lol Such an enjoyable groove jam-packed with variety and interesting elements the whole way through. I can only imagine what the logic file for this one looks like!

This is so cool... I especially can feel the "dance off boss battle" vibes here, so damn fun.

Grabbed me with the groove. Tasty. Those vocals are cool!

That's so kind - thank you! I'd like to get better at creating tracks with more moment-to-moment variety. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.

Thanks! It's actually a VST guitar. Less quantized this time around though, which I think made a difference.

Thanks! The vocals actually aren't mine here - they're a mix of vocaloid and stock Alchemy presets in Logic. Certainly no replacement for the real thing, but handy as pads in a pinch!

Thanks! Wish I'd gotten some final boss battle practice in before the year ended. But hey, there's always 2026!

Thanks!

They all came together in such great harmony, the boss' defeat is assured

this is freaky!  does not sound like LCB!  i would like the vocals louder, in order to be scarier, but this track is not scary but kinda scary?
